Carly Goodman-Smith

Carly joined Tyler Grange during its first year and is now a Director working

in the Cotswold office. 


Carly is an experienced ecological consultant co-ordinating ecological appraisals, 

assessments and impact assessments for EIA in relation to a range of land use change 

including residential, industrial, commercial and retail development as well as renewable 

energy proposals. Carly has experience working on all sizes of project from single 

dwellings up to large urban expansions and provides robust and pragmatic advice to 

clients and the project team throughout the planning process and engages with 

consultees to deliver the best outcome. 


She is also adept in devising mitigation strategies and management plans for a wide 

range of protected species and habitats and has proven success in the preparation of 

Natural England mitigation licence applications for European Protected Species 

(including great crested newts, dormice and bats) and badgers affected by development.


Carly is active within CIEEM being a committee member and treasurer for the South 

West Section. She is also a bat carer for the Bat Conservation Trust, taking in injured or 

grounded bats as part of her community volunteer work.
